HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are any number of ways in which someone can help in our efforts to have Annika transferred to Sweden. From a simple letter, to a financial contribution; every gesture is greatly appreciated. It is the voice of the people that impact and change the political climate in most countries. Through the efforts of both Swedes and Americans alike, we will succeed, but your participation is very important. We ask that you donate five minutes of your time to write a few lines to all or any or all of the following on behalf of Annika, her family, and friends. Thank you for your efforts and support.

The Board of Parole Hearings (BPT) has the sole responsibility of reviewing the cases of California's
life term prisoners, and setting release (parole) dates. They have the jurisdiction to review a case every year, or deny review of a case, up to five years. After Annika's
initial hearing in 1997, she had to wait five years for her case to again be reviewed. After her hearing in January 2002, she was informed that they
would not review her case again for another three years. In May 2005 the Board once again decided to wait another three years for Annika's next hearing. It
will probably take place in October or November in 2008.
If the BPT were to issue Annika a parole date, she would then be eligible for transfer to Sweden regardless of the year of that release date. That is the
true injustice in this case, that they have refused to do so.
