09/19/08 Parole denied again
Yesterday Annika's case was up for the Board of Prison Terms (BPT) for the forth time. Once again the BPT decided not to approve Annikas request for parole and/or transfer to a Swedish prison. Next chance for Annika will be in two years. Annika's earlier parole hearings have taken place with three years in between.

09/14/08 Upcoming hearing:
On Thursday 18th of September the Board of Prison Terms will review Annika's case one more time. The hearing will take place at California Institution for Women.

07/07/08 Upcoming hearing
Annikas hearing will take place in the middle of September.

04/18/08 Write to help Annika at her next hearing!
Annikas hearing on the 28th of May has been postponed until later this summer. You could help Annika by sending a letter of recomendation to Annika's attorney.

02/26/08 Upcoming hearing
Sometime this year (2008) the BPT will review Annikas case again. More information will be presented shortly.

01/30/2008 - Discussion on the Swedish radio
On January 30 Annikas case was discussed on the Swedish radio program "Nordegren i P1". To hear the program.

01/30/2008 - Theater Magnolia presents - "Annika Östberg, fånge W 189 68 Deasy"
A play based on mail correspondence between Annika and the Swedish actress Marga Pettersson. For more information go to teater Magnolia.

06/10/2007 - Article published
In April 2007 Annika wrote an article for the magazine Bark. Read the article here.

06/02/2007 - New work
Since the 28th of May 2007 Annika is working full time in the handicraft section, being responsible for the administration. This is something Annika really has been looking forward to, amongst other because it will get Annika an oppurtunity to further develop her artistics skills.

06/01/2007 - Next hearing in 2008
Next hearing when BPT will review Annikas case is set to 2008. When this is written (June 2007) it seems to be held in October/November in 2008.

08/01/2006 - Puppy programme
During spring 2007 Annika is working hard with the “Puppy programme”. This is a collaboration between the correctonal facility and the Canine Support Teams where inmates raise and train dogs to be assistants to physically challenged people.
